- Inspired by the concept of infinity and the elegance of water’s pure form, “O” pays tribute to the beauty of the theatre - from the simplest street performance to the most lavish of operas - where anything is possible and where the drama of life plays itself out before our very eyes. “O,” phonetically speaking, is the French word for water (spelled “eau”). The international cast of world-class acrobats, synchronized swimmers, divers and characters perform in, on, and above a 1.5 million-gallon pool. Reflective of a 14th century European opera house, the “O” theatre seats 1,800 guests and was custom-designed to meet the unique demands of the show.
Since its opening in October 1998, 10 million spectators have embarked on the dream-like voyage that is “O.” Over 5600 performances later, this lavish production is still as enthralling as ever thanks to the passion of the 85 performers and 150 stage technicians that make “O” come to life. From a group of 20 street performers at its beginnings in 1984, Cirque du Soleil® is now a major international organization providing high-quality artistic entertainment. The acclaimed family holiday theatrical – "'Twas the Night Before…" by Cirque du Soleil – is making its Dallas debut at the Texas C. U. Theater from Friday, November 25 – Sunday, December 11, 2022. The production will run for 25 performances.
