The STRAT Hotel, Casino & SkyPod welcomed guests to celebrate the grand opening of Swim & Social, the property's picturesque new destination to sip, swim and socialize. Set to the elevated backdrop of the Las Vegas Strip, the event showcased small bites and cocktails for those of age, from Swim & Social Café, live entertainment, and games.  Stephen Thayer, vice president and general manager of The STRAT Hotel, Casino & SkyPod, welcomed guests to the celebration, including Councilmembers Oliva Diaz and Cedric Crear.  Thayer led the Las Vegas dignitaries in a celebratory ribbon-cutting ceremony in front of the main pool. The celebration included a surprise "Splash Mob," featuring a performance by Uzeyer Novruzov, a talented ladder acrobat from season 10 of America's Got Talent. Novruzov initiated the "Splash Mob" routine by knocking a performer into the pool, after which a group of synchronized swimmers entertained guests.

A sampling of small dishes and cocktails from the destination's full-service restaurant and bar, Swim & Social Café, included shrimp ceviche, chicken teriyaki skewers, and ahi tuna tacos, as well as Peach Party, S&S Favorite, and Blue Hawaiian cocktails. The ultimate party band, Yacht & Roll, provided the soundtrack for the event. At the same time, games like cornhole, giant Jenga, and Connect Four welcomed friendly competition and poolside socializing. Now open, admission is complimentary for hotel guests and available to non-hotel guests for $15. Minors under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. The STRAT Hotel and Casino has reinvented itself from the old to the new with sleek, modern, and sophisticated designs throughout the hotel and casino. Recently known as the Stratosphere, this venue is on the map as one of the summers featured five pics for Vegas Scene Magazine.

I recommend the pool for locals and anyone looking to stay on or near the Strip or downtown Las Vegas. Not only is the hotel conveniently located, but with the new renovations of the casino, rooms, and unique pool deck, this venue stands out amongst the others on the Strip. STRAT pool is enormous, with plenty of cabanas and luxury seating sections throughout the pool deck, and the staff is attentive and friendly.
